Hello, I’m KPB!

I’m an Electrical Engineer by trade and a Designer by choice, based in London.

Simply put, my work focuses on building first-of-its-kind systems, technologies, products, and experiences that either solve real-world problems or spark joy and curiosity, though ideally both.

I hold a bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from UCLA, as well as a double master’s (M.Sc. + M.A.) in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art.

I live for solving ambitious and ambiguous problems using clever design, emerging technologies, and impactful storytelling.

With nearly 10 years of professional experience, I’ve worked in multiple roles and environments, ranging from Corporations, Startups, Scaleups, Academia, Non-Profits, NGOs, R&D Labs, and Film.

I operate in the vague realm between technical and creative fields, negotiating between art <> science, design <> engineering, societal impact <> commercial feasibility, with the singular goal of bringing disruptive ideas to life, often in the roles of a “Product Manager”, “Design Engineer”, “Innovation Researcher”, or “Creative Technologist”.

I’m currently building the future of Wildfire Detection at Pyri, where I design and engineer sustainable energy storage and telemetry systems.

Previous adventurers have included:

  • Translating research prototypes into manufacturable and user-ready experiences for painless permanent tattoos at CipherX,

  • Managing Core Product Platforms and building B2B2C experiences used by millions globally at Groupon,

  • Shaping New Product Development and Strategy for consumer hardware and e-sports at Belkin,

  • Building biomimetic soft robots to bridge physics models and ML-based simulation at the Structures-Computer Interaction Lab.

In my free time, I take pictures, DJ, swim, and travel.
